We begin our journey through the history of food preservation at its very origins.

Throughout history, human beings have always searched for ways to preserve food for survival, using methods such as drying, salting and smoking. The great breakthrough came with Nicolas Appert, who developed food preservation through heat, and shortly afterwards with the invention of the metal can, which made production and consumption much easier.
